A Pocket Guide to World Music
Discover inspiring sounds from around the globe: from Afrobeat to Zouk, via the Bossa Nova, Cumbia, Ragas, Reggae and Salsa.
The programmes will highlight artists and folk music from every corner of the planet as local music producer and sound designer Clive Williamson introduces his favourites from ‘The World on his iPod.’
Listen out for themed shows including: ‘Brasil & Colombia’; ‘Around Africa’; ‘Exploring Europe’; ‘The Americas’; and more… featuring an hour of the best Indian, Oriental, Latin and Caribbean music.
Clive worked regularly as a sound engineer in London with DJs including John Peel and Annie Nightingale, and on BBC Radio 3’s ‘Late Junction’. He produced ‘The Science of Sound’ for Radio 4 and the World Service before forming the group Symbiosis, creating music for relaxation and albums of nature sounds from Australia and New Zealand.
